Let there be color (and cabinets!)

Our new home continues to come along nicely and on schedule.  We headed down Friday night to see this week's progress and were happy to see that the first coats of paint were applied this past week, the cabinets were delivered, and some of the flooring has been installed.  Our siding is almost completely finished as well.  The garage floor and porch were recently poured and the garage doors have been installed.  Pics are below:

Eve and I also completed our home sale on Friday and are now officially "renters" again.  We will be renting our house back from the buyers through the end of June and new house completion.  What a blessing to be able to stay here and how crazy that we bought the house 6+ years ago with the same terms for our sellers.

And finally, a photo of our color checker from Friday night:

Relaxing....

It recently came to our attention that Eden's life isn't exactly easy.  With having to be cute 24/7, dressing H2T (head to toe) with the latest fashions, and constanting adjusting to everything new, she has had a pretty stressful 6 months.  Eve and I were chatting about this the other day and Eve mentioned that one of the most relaxing things she has ever experienced was a hot stone massage.  She remembered it took her cares away and left her feeling refreshed.  So, being the cool Dad that I am, I thought Eden deserved one herself.

At first she wasn't quite sure what was going on:

Once I started the massage part, I could feel the tension melting away:

As the pictures show, she really enjoyed it:

I'm sure if she could speak she would have thanked me many times over.  Her smiles and kisses were more than enough though!

Happy Half Birthday, Eden!

Hard to believe, but on Saturday Eden was 6 months old!  It's crazy to think how our lives have changed in the last six months.  Eden has been more of a blessing to us than I think Bill or I ever imagined she'd be.  I cannot imagine life without her.

She's developing quite the personality, is becoming more laid back and smiles freely....which we never thought would happen during those first couple months when it felt like all she did was cry!  She loves to pet/watch/laugh at Sherman, enjoys being with other kids, and has become a professional babbler and spit-bubble blower!   She now likes to pull off her socks (as if we didn't already have enough trouble keeping them on!) and roll over.

She is tiny for her age....only 13 lb. 4 oz. and 26 inches at her 6 month appt. Friday.  The Dr. wasn't concerned though, said she's following her own curve.  She is in the 10% for weight (16% at 4 months) and 50-75% for height (60% at 4 months).  Maybe the carbs in the rice cereal we plan to start this week will pack the pounds on her!  :)

We love you sweet baby girl!

Where's Eden??

Just like the old books, Where's Waldo, except you are looking for a cute little baby girl with a pink hair bow.   See if you can find her.

I don't see you...my eyes are closed!!

You found me!

Who knew a huge pile of laundry could be so much fun?!  Somehow my mom doesn't think it's so much fun!

Drywall....finished!

Things continue to move along smoothly with the new house.  Everything continues to be on schedule and no problems to speak of.  We were blessed to have a great day to take a "tour" with Eve's family today.  We felt fortunate to be able to have wonderful weather with no Spring Showers (or the accompanying mud!)  Wish everyone could have made it out and hope everyone feels better soon.  For those that aren't family and as such weren't invited, here are some pictures:

And we saw this sight the other night (I wouldn't try it despite Eve's begging)

We are told that painting, siding, and flooring are next up and should be started fairly soon.  Eve and I are really starting to feel our patience muscles getting worked and we still have almost three months to go!  It will be worth the wait though.  Take care.

Thanks Dad!

I guess I am a week late, but better late than never as they say.  I wanted to tell everyone what a great time I had last weekend.  My mom went scrapbooking at her friend's house, and my dad watched me...ALL by himself, ALL weekend!!  We did lots of fun things like taking a road trip with Uncle Jesse to see my great-grandparents and great aunt and uncle, going to McDonald's, playing and laughing with daddy and Sherman, and practicing wrapping Daddy around my little fingers.

One day we dressed alike...aren't we cute?!

We even decided to make some homemade banana bread for mama when she arrived home.  She said she liked it.  She also said she was impressed with how tidy the house was and that everything was "in one piece", whatever that means.   The only bad thing that happened was Sherman got a jar of my formula off the kitchen counter and ate it ALL...he even shredded the container.  Bad dog Sherman!

I sure do love my daddy and am so thankful that he loves to take care of me and play with me like he does.  Now I know why mommy loves him so much, too!

Happy Easter everyone!
