We have so much to tell you about these days....Eden, new house, job changes for Eve, move to Wakarusa, and whatever else may come up! The plan is for Bill and I both to post on the blog, but to update it at least once a week...we'll see how it goes.
It's been quite a year, a good one filled with MANY blessings. Some of the highlights would have to be...
--Eden's birth on Oct. 17, 2009....how absolutely amazing, the miracle of birth and then life.
--Our decision and plans to move to Wakarusa and build our "forever home" there. We've known for years that once we started our family, we wanted to get out of the "big city" and move to a smaller town, similar to places in which we both grew up. It's been pretty neat to see God work out all the little details and continue to bless us in this huge endeavor.
--Our trip to Vegas/LA with Jesse and Elyse last New Year's. Oh the changes a year can bring!
--Bill and I celebrated 7 years of marriage on Aug. 3. Wow, how time flies! We enjoyed a long weekend in Racine, Wisconsin of all places! Guess that's what you end up with when you wait until 2 weeks before to make reservations for a bed and breakfast on Lake Michigan. Oh well, it was a memorable trip, for sure! :)
--Job stability. In an economy such as this, I think Bill and I both take for granted that we are both employed, with jobs we really enjoy. Though the clinic has encountered some financial issues related to the economy and insurance reimbursement changes, we lost a week of our vacation time, didn't receive raises this year, had wages cut 10% later in the year, and the Dr. I've worked for the past 6 years is leaving in Feb....I still need to remember that I have a job and a career that I love. Whatever the future may hold, God is in control!
--Friends and family. We were especially reminded of what great people we have in our life after Eden's birth. My scrapbook girls made us loads of freezer meals, I received many encouraging e-mails from other experienced moms, offers of help and babysitting service abounded :), River Valley families blessed us with meals, visits from dear friends who provided reassuring words, the baby showers and "Billy Bash" provided us with much needed baby gear, many of Bill's clients and my patients surprised us with handmade afghans and all sorts of adorable little outfits.
--Happiness. Again something I think we really take for granted from day-to-day.
I love being married to a man who not only makes me laugh every day, but goes out of his way to help me do what needs to be done at home and with our daughter, surprises me with CD's and Starbucks treats, and watches Eden just so I can get out of the house for a bit! And then there's nothing in the world like the smile of your baby girl to bring joy to your heart. :)
