Another Fun Week!

We did lots of the usual things this week and a few new things as well.  I'm a pretty good sport most of the time and had fun doing everything listed below.  In fact, I had lots of fun in a couple of these photos and I'll let you guess which ones they were....

Hanging out on my changing table with Jeffrey my Giraffe rattle

Getting kisses from my big brother Sherman.  I'm starting to smile when he does that and he's been giving me lots of kisses lately!  Who can blame him though???

A fun trip to the aquarium (thankfully I didn't have to go out in the cold that night.)

Hanging out with Daddy on the couch

This Bumbo thing is kind of fun

Going to Home Depot with Mom, Dad, Uncle Jesse and Aunt Elyse.  They all looked at towel bars...I enjoyed the boxes going way up into the air!

You all think my Daddy is a jokester...well, I think I might have the "jokester gene" myself.
I tricked him on this one...he thought he'd be safe picking me up after what he found in my diaper...but I kept a little something "up my sleeve" as they say!  He called Mommy right away :)

Thanks for checking out my blog.  Let Mom and Dad know what you think by leaving a comment.  They would love to hear from you.

Groundbreaking!

We are very excited to announce that we've moved from the design stage to the building stage!  The groundbreaking has occurred and we are looking forward to seeing our home take shape.  We had a wonderful ceremony despite the weather.  For those that couldn't be there we gathered a couple of pics to share:

Waiting for the festivities to begin.  Thank you to all who came and have done a wonderful job welcoming us to the community.

The "honorary" groundbreaking tools:

We were delayed because our builder had to wait until the second 2nd dump truck was available.  It's amazing how big they are in person!

It will be neat to see them use the crane as well.  Look out below!

Only a few more months to go and we know it will fly by.  We can't wait to welcome all of you (well, some of you) to the new abode once it is completed.

3 months

Sorry to make you wait all week for the "sneak peek".  If any of you were as anxious as I was :), I know it was a long wait!  But we had good reason for the delay...our photographer, Jeri, is trying to grow her business and had the bright idea to post a link on her blog to the Polka Dot Bowtique website...the place I get all Eden's super cute hairbows.  In return, Heather, from Polka Dot Bowtique gets to use Eden's photos that Jeri takes, modeling the adorable bows, on her website for advertising.  Hopefully it will help them both out, while many will get to see and enjoy that adorable little angel of ours!

You can now see a sampling of her 3 month photos at http://www.jerihoagphotography.blogspot.com/.

P.S.  Thanks to Aunt Elyse for my stylin' wardrobe in these pics!

Back to school....and work

Can't believe another week has gone by already. Today Eden is 3 months old! I'm sure I'll say this a million times, but time really does fly.

She got her 3 month pictures taken today; we'll post the link for the "sneak peak" later this week. We have an amazing photographer who comes to the house, brings all her props/equipment, and spends as long as she needs to get the cutest shots. She took our maternity pictures, Eden's newborn shots, and will be taking them at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. It'll be fun to see how much she changes throughout this first year.

The entire Mock family, Sherman included, had a nice weekend.
Jesse and Elyse joined us for a basketball game at our alma mater, Tippecanoe Valley High School, Friday night. It was fun to talk to a few of our favorite teachers and friends, while showing off our little cutie. :)
Not sure who enjoyed it more...Eden or Grandma and Grandpa!

She was such a good girl. She enjoys loud places and had lots to watch.

Sherman also had a nice time this weekend. His aunt and uncle surprised him with a visit to PetSmart to pick out his belated b-day/Christmas gift. After that he enjoyed a ride around town and a visit to the memorial for Ricky, the Mishawaka police K-9 who was killed last week.

We probably shouldn't have let Sherman go after his continued misdeeds again this week....

He just moved the bubble wrap aside and made himself comfortable! That's a first. He is afraid of the bubble wrap, hence why we put it on our couch every time we leave the house. It had kept him off the furniture all this time, now he's getting brave I guess.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers this week as I went back to work Monday. It went surprisingly well. It was nice to get back to work, but certainly hard to leave Eden. We have a good friend, Emily, who is watching Eden at her house until we move this summer. What a blessing she is to us!

Eden loves Emily's boys and it is so cute to see them interact with one another, especially her 3-year old, Noah. She just smiles at him, and he is so sweet to her..."Eden, come play in my room", running to get the door for us, and yelling "Bye Eden" after we've walked out the door. They are very cute. :) We are so thankful to have this family in our lives as we go through this stage of life.

Hope everyone has a great week and sleeps "like a baby."

Bad Dog, Buff Daddy, and Bathtime!

Another wonderful week with Eden and 2010 is off to the races. We kept our "non-working" hours full with dinner with family/friends, a late winters night trip to pick up legal docs for the new house project, having a productive trip to Lowes with no disagreements :) on picking out fans/fixtures, and some wonderful bathtimes! And shoveling the driveway....that kept me occupied a couple of times as well. At least Sherman and Eve kept watch on me from the nursery to make sure I didn't break a hip or something slipping on the ice...

Dinner with Family - our cousins Ian and Katie joined us for dinner before they head out to Costa Rica/Africa with YWAM for several months. It was wonderful to see them and we are so proud of the work they do. Dinner was so fancy we had to line up to fill our plates with pizza, veggies, cheesebread, and chips. Sherm didn't think with all the talking and laughing going on we would notice he "slipped in line." Needless to say...we did:

After all of those carbs...it was time to hit the treadmill :) We've found that a certain someone loves "hanging out" with us during our treadmill time. Eden does not like staying still so this fits right in with her preference to be a mover and shaker.

Isn't this how kangaroo babies get around?

Although we had a great time at Lowes and were quite happy when we left, our disposition changed ever so slightly upon arriving home. This is when we discovered Sherm had added another $2.50 to his ever growing tab:

Who needs Kleenex is the living room anyway?

Did I do that?

But it was on to more fun things for us. So far Eden loves taking baths. She would sit there until she prunes up if we let her. Smiles and splashing her legs already!

Shouldn't Mom be washing my hair? Since she has some and all...

Enough with the pictures already!
This is how they dry me off.
Alright folks, off to bed for me. I've gotta have plenty of energy for looking cute tomorrow (and everyday for that matter!) Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

Happy New Year...and New Blog!

So we've finally done it...started our family blog! Hopefully this will give our friends and family a way to keep up with us when we don't have a chance to personally speak with or visit you all.

We have so much to tell you about these days....Eden, new house, job changes for Eve, move to Wakarusa, and whatever else may come up! The plan is for Bill and I both to post on the blog, but to update it at least once a week...we'll see how it goes.

It's been quite a year, a good one filled with MANY blessings. Some of the highlights would have to be...

--Eden's birth on Oct. 17, 2009....how absolutely amazing, the miracle of birth and then life.

--Our decision and plans to move to Wakarusa and build our "forever home" there. We've known for years that once we started our family, we wanted to get out of the "big city" and move to a smaller town, similar to places in which we both grew up. It's been pretty neat to see God work out all the little details and continue to bless us in this huge endeavor.

--Our trip to Vegas/LA with Jesse and Elyse last New Year's. Oh the changes a year can bring!

--Our health, and especially a healthy baby girl.

--Bill and I celebrated 7 years of marriage on Aug. 3. Wow, how time flies! We enjoyed a long weekend in Racine, Wisconsin of all places! Guess that's what you end up with when you wait until 2 weeks before to make reservations for a bed and breakfast on Lake Michigan. Oh well, it was a memorable trip, for sure! :)

--Job stability. In an economy such as this, I think Bill and I both take for granted that we are both employed, with jobs we really enjoy. Though the clinic has encountered some financial issues related to the economy and insurance reimbursement changes, we lost a week of our vacation time, didn't receive raises this year, had wages cut 10% later in the year, and the Dr. I've worked for the past 6 years is leaving in Feb....I still need to remember that I have a job and a career that I love. Whatever the future may hold, God is in control!

--Friends and family. We were especially reminded of what great people we have in our life after Eden's birth. My scrapbook girls made us loads of freezer meals, I received many encouraging e-mails from other experienced moms, offers of help and babysitting service abounded :), River Valley families blessed us with meals, visits from dear friends who provided reassuring words, the baby showers and "Billy Bash" provided us with much needed baby gear, many of Bill's clients and my patients surprised us with handmade afghans and all sorts of adorable little outfits.

--Happiness. Again something I think we really take for granted from day-to-day.
I love being married to a man who not only makes me laugh every day, but goes out of his way to help me do what needs to be done at home and with our daughter, surprises me with CD's and Starbucks treats, and watches Eden just so I can get out of the house for a bit! And then there's nothing in the world like the smile of your baby girl to bring joy to your heart. :)

Hope you all enjoy a blessed 2010. Thanks for what all of you mean to us and enjoy the blog!
